Re: Diablo II: LOD
Okay, I have officially beat the game multiple times over. I have too many items, and I may or may not have automatic botting programs that efficiently play the game for me O.o
If anyone doesn't want the hassle of starting fresh ask me, I can give you stuff on ladder or non ladder.
Otherwise I'll grind out this game for a little more until it becomes too mundane.
I've been on SP minecraft for a while, just trying to get the itch back.

Hope everyone's all well!

oh most definitely. Since the game is over 10 years old and very scarcely moderated by blizzard employees botting has almost become commonplace. Check out d2etal.com Anywho yea majority of the time i'm botting just because I am busy but when I'm actually on im on for a while.

I've never played before and I was thinking about picking it up. Diablo 3 looks cool but who knows when it will be released. Is it worth ten bucks to purchase D2 to get familiar with the game or should I just wait?

D2 is still a good game even after all this time. 10 bucks... yeah, especially if you have a friend or two to play it with. Yay for old games that still run through LAN!

Re: Diablo II: LOD
If you like top down rpgs, it is a very fun game.
Unfortunately due to barely any active moderation by Blizzard, the game is bogged heavily down by hacks and (spam)bots. It is a bonus if you want to streamline gameplay, but overall, I did not enjoy it as much as I had before.
I also get an eery feeling that the servers will be taken down as soon as D3 is launched.
If you want an example of people taking the game into extremely nerdy levels, check out D2JSP.org, and I mean EXTREME.
For example about d2jsp, there are bugged items from patches in Diablo 2 that no longer drop, and people are paying upwards of $200 to buy them.

$200 wow! Is it only online or does it have a single player?

It does have a single player. I don't know much about it though, as I never actually played it, haha. What people do online is repeatedly make new games to farm rare items. I don't know if your can make new games with the same character in single player.
Now that I think of it, it sounds easily testable, make a character, join the game, log out and try and make a new game with the same character.
I wish I kept my accounts (you can have more than one) for online play, I could have given you characters that were fully set up.
