Alot of people will make one of each class to level 10 and decide which one to play from there. By about level 10 you will have a feel for some of the main dynamics of each class.

hey guys, im gonna check this game out. Im a mmo pro so it wont take me long to catch up if i like the game. I'll probably play a healer but if you need a different class i can roll anything. What server and faction are you on, and can you use a healer?

it's pretty good. If you like MMO's at all you'll like it. a bit of a grinder but pretty good.

Yeah from lvl's 7-10 you get a much better idea of how a class is going to pan out. I've made one of each now and depending on what your mood/playstyle I can give you some suggestions of what to roll. So far my favorites are:
Healers : Melee is fun, kind of a difficult class to play until you get some self defense skills. Good dps.
Paladin : I made mine a tank and if you're going to compare it to other mmo tanks be prepared for disappointment. Doesn't feel like a tank at all but functions like one ie I probably won't die but I might not be able to dps this mob to death either...Hoping this improves as I level because I love to tank.
Defiler : Super happy fun times. Best comparison I have is warlock but I can heal as well. Once you get your pet you're gtg.

Also, if you make a new toon be sure you look at the talent trees and get some information on what spec you want from the Allods forums. Respecs cost real life monies! This includes for your stats!

Sarah I would 100% recomend trying a warrior out with sword n board playstyle. That may be much closer to what you feel a tank should be like!!

Also you can buy respecs for gold using the Auction House, but prepared to put up ALOT of gold!!!

The longest I have been able to play without the game crashing is about 30 minutes. Usually it happens every ten minutes, which is very frustrating. I keep getting an application error- the referenced memory could not be read. I have done a little research on how to fix this, but I am not very good at this kind of thing. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

That's strange Tenfor. I haven't had any issues with this at all. I wonder if maybe a reinstall might help you?

Steves handy dandy troubleshooter for video games!!

Step 1 . try running game as administrator (right click link > Run As Administrator)

If that fails

Step 2a. Lower graphics from high to medium.

If that fails

Step 2b. Lower Graphics from medium to lowest possible

If that fails

Step 3. Redownload and reinstall from scratch (after having uninstalled previous version)
REMEMBER to go remove any folders left from uninstall by said game, as these may contain old files that may recorrupt game.

If that fails

Step 4. Hit computer with a hammer, feed remains to a platypus, and learn to play chess.

I started to mess around with this game, but was hoping to get a couple pointers before spending too much time with it. First, is it truly possible to play this game for free and be competitive in pvp in the end game? Other f2p games i've played, usually are imbalanced toward people that spend tons of real money.

And secondly, help me pick a role, please! I made a savant, because he looks cool, but I read a guide that said that Summoners take a supporting role in pvp, which sounds kinda lame. I'm hoping that this isn't the case, because I like the look of the savant. My style of gameplay is usually up close and personal melee. 1 hit kills make me smile. Maybe I should pick Warrior?

Anyways, any input would be helpful.

and yes, it is F2P and dosn't require money to be competitive end game, infact this is one of the few MMOs that allows almost all CS items to be purchased with ingame gold from other players, making it so the one or two things that make a difference are obtainable, and its not massively overpriced either!

I'm still unable to play even after trying a bunch of different shite. I am writing a letter to Mr. Allods asking him for help to play his game.
