The new frontier
So we picked a spot last night for our new themed town. We are going to do a wild west town. We will be bringing the minecart in on raised wooden platforms and trying to make it look as much like an old west town as possible. I think I'm going to try a windmill and a water tower.
To get there for now use /warp wildwesttown until the train gets us there. Try to leave the cacti where they are so we have an organic desert feel. If you need cactus you can cut the tops off of course just don't dig them all the way up.

Try not to terraform the sand too much too. We'll likely flatten a bit of an area to get started. Get your glass and sandstone elsewhere!

Re: The new frontier
nice! The new town is near my house. I was sad when I saw that the desert was being farmed for sand so drastically. Now it'll be protected like a natural preserve. We need a plugin to ride horses now. Just kidding! There needs to be a sheriff's office, saloon, telegraph station...man, I love westerns, hehe.

Re: The new frontier
If you need sand etc the desert across the bay NE of spawn near praits house is largely vacant and we can fix sand devastation

JSwizzy made an album of spawn concept buildings to get an idea, so I thought I'd start doing the same for this one.
One feature we definitely need to capture: 1 or 2 wide, covered, often raised wood plank sidewalk on either side of the street. You can see this on most of the buildings in that album.

Re: The new frontier
since the new site is near water, we could make a port town. Something like this: http://www.ptguide.com/history-a-attractions. It'd take some digging to connect the bodies of water to make it worth it.

Awesome! We should have some gallows too. Maybe with a creeper hanging somehow.

Re: The new frontier
I flattened some land for a main street kinda thing. There are torches running down the center of the road. The road will end up being 6-8 wide I think with boardwalks along either side and storefront/ buildings extending off either side. You can terraform the areas for the buildings as you go. I put up a sign over a little gully that I want to build a wooden bridge over. Feel free to head over there using /warp wildwesttown (which we may change the name of) and stake out a claim. Just drop a sign where you'd like to build and let us know if you need anything done.
Re: The new frontier
we could make a missionary/fort kinda like the alamo and the gallows could be located inside the main courtyard!

I've started a building for testing purposes, it's by no means permanent, not having a lot of building experience I'm learning as I go

The entire place should be creeper protected now. In addition, I'm going to look into spawning a dark wood forest somewhere, since snow biomes are scarce.
